9 Months Old!!!

Allison turned 9 months old on Friday and we had her 9 month checkup yesterday.  The picture below shows what she did most of the day after getting her shots! Then last night we went to watch Daddy, Grammy, and Grampy bowl!

She did really good at the doctors office! She showed the nurse how she walks, she blew kisses to the doctor, she showed him how she hugs and kisses her baby doll and sat still while he examined her.  She even gave him a high five and said bye bye when he was done!!  He gave her the stamp of approval and said that she was pretty advanced (proud mom here)!

I love going to the doctors to see how she has grown but I hate that she has to get shots. This time she only had to have 2 shots - her Hep B and the Flu shot.  This year they have the flu and swine flu combined into one shot.  Problem is that they have to get it in two doses.  We will go back in a month to get the last dose.

Surprisingly she did really good when they gave her the shots!! It was different nurses than normal so I don't think she knew they were giving her shots.  Then she saw the needles.  She tensed up her legs and they gave her the shots in the same spots as normal.  She cried for like a second and then looked at me like "what just happened?"  By the time I picked her up off the table she was all smiles again!!!

Here are her stats from today:

Weight - 21lbs 14.3oz - 89%
Height - 29 inches - 88%
Head - 17 3/4 inches - 78%

Here is a list of things that she is doing now that she is a big 9 month old kid! (this is so we can remember when she grows up)

  • She gives hugs and kisses
  • She blows kisses
  • She waves and says bye-bye (says it more like buhhh-byeeee - so cute)
  • She is walking very good...sometimes running!
  • She gives high fives
  • She claps
  • She calls Scott "Da Da"
  • She calls Me "Ma Ma"
  • She calls Buddy (puppy) "Pa Pa"
  • She tries to say pretty (says "pre..., pre..., pre...")
  • She loves to dance (anytime she hears music she starts to dance)
  • She loves Dora the Explorer (I don't sit her in front of the TV or anything but we will have it on in the background as she is playing and she goes up to the TV and stares and then dances when they sing)
  • She kicks her mini-basketball and carries it all around the room
  • She knows how to open and close her computer (on one of her toys)
  • She knows what buttons to push when we ask her on her toys
  • She eats really well
  • She gets really excited and runs to Daddy when he comes home from work
  • She loves waving at pictures of herself
  • She drinks from a straw cup
  • She crawls up stairs (at Aunt Sarah's house, we hide the stairs at home form her!)

She is a very happy fun little girl and we love everything about her!!!

What a Wonderful Wedding Weekend!!!

We just got home from Uncle Brad's wedding in North Carolina and we had so much fun!!!

We flew to North Carolina on Friday morning and this was Alli's first plane ride and she did great!!! She slept for the first 2 hours and then the last 30 minutes she lookrd out the window with Daddy and drank from her Dora cup! No crying!!! Then we were off to the rehearsal and dinner where we got to see the rest of the family!

Then on Saturday Mackenzie and Brad got married!!!  As we were getting ready for the wedding cousin Lucy decided to start a microwave fire!!!  Yes, really a fire!  She put crackers with the wrapper in the microwave and turned the dial before anyone saw and the next thing the room was filled with smoke and the fire alarm was going off (we weren't in the hotel so we didn't get the full experience but it was to funny not to mention).  It was a beautiful wedding and everyone looked great!!!  Allison did not want to sit still or be quiet (she likes to talk!) so we got to watch the wedding through the back doors of the Church.  Then at the reception (which was also beautiful) Alli wanted to dance dance dance.  But since the dance floor was outside I didn't want her to fall and get hurt so she just danced with Daddy! She only liked it for the first minute or so and then she wanted to dance on her own, so needless to say she was not happy when we had to stop dancing.  She must get her love of dance from her cousin Logan... he was on the dance floor doing the Macarena and the Superman and was the best one out there!

Then on Sunday we went to Aunt Mackenzie's parents house for lunch and to watch them open presents!  They got some really good stuff that will come in handy in New York and soon Texas!!!

Then we left early Monday morning and same thing on the flight.  Alli slept for over 2 hours and then the last 15 minutes she played! No crying!!!!

It was so fun to be with all of Scott's family and be there as Brad and Mackenzie start a new life together and to see all the family that came in from Illinois!!  Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Bradley Payne!!!  Welcome to the family Aunt Mackenzie!!

9 Month Old Soccer Player

Have you ever seen a baby dribbling a soccer ball before they turn 9 months old?  Now you can say that you have.  She didn't kick a whole lot when she was in Mom's belly.  I guess she was saving it up for when she got out.  Now all you have to do is ask her to kick her ball and she knows exactly what to do.  This was the first proud "Sports Dad" moment of my life (the first of many, I hope)!!!  She's definitely a future soccer player.  Hope you enjoy the video!

Summertime fun!!

We have had such a fun summer!!  It's been so busy that I haven't posted in a while.  We really haven't done much, just a lot of hanging out with friends and family. What else is there to do when it's 100 degrees in Texas?!?!  You stay inside and play!!  Then we got a few cooler days (97 degrees) so we took advantage of it and went to the park and to a high school football game!! Allison also had her first playdate, we don't call it a playdate though because it was with a boy and she is not allowed to date until she is 35 so it was a "play get together".  She has had another one since then and this time there was another girl and boy there and she had so much fun!!  So here are some random pictures of our summer! Hope you enjoy!

Sweet Pea Update!

Today we went for our mid pregnancy ultrasound. This is the one where they would normally tell you if it was a boy or girl, but for us it's just a Sweet Pea for now!!  It was so exciting to see the new baby and get the "all good" from the tech! During the ultrasound, the tech said the baby hasn't stopped moving. Scott replied "which baby?"  He was lucky enough to hold Alli who was squirming all around because she wanted to get down to play.  She doesn't sit still anymore!  :-)  Since the baby was moving so much some of the pictures turned out blurry.  Howver, we did get a good picture of Sweet Pea waving to Alli!!!  The due date is January 30th, 2011.  Here are some pictures from today!
